Design Challenges

  • Working entirely within the existing footprint of the home
  • Integrating much larger appliances while also increasing storage capacity
  • Accommodating a large range hood that required a separate fresh makeup air system
  • Determining effective routing for the makeup air system
  • Preparing subfloors to an exacting level to ensure herringbone hardwood flooring could be installed dead flat
